My main concern in getting a new card, for example the Quadro 600, is that my current MB only has one PCI-E 1.1 slot.

Terramodel forum upgrade#

If the new GPU is a true upgrade (rather than a stopgap measure) and is compatible with the new system, it'll stay, otherwise the new system will include a new GPU. Upgrading the system may be over a year away depending on economy and the local job market. The future will likely bring dual DVI monitors both running 1900x1200.ĪDDITIONAL COMMENTS: This will be a replacement of the current GPU to last until the whole system is replaced. MONITOR RESOLUTION: Currently running a two monitor setup: DVI 1900x1200 and Analog It would be great if I don't have to give up the analog monitor but it's not a requirementt.

For my purposes it probably doesn't matter. Trimble Terramodel software, is a powerful software package for the Surveyor, Civil Engineer and Contractor, who requires a CAD and Design package with integrated support for raw survey data. PARTS PREFERENCES: I don't have a preference for AMD or NVidia.

Also, it seems that many GPU's are getting more powerful and more efficient. Not sure about the PSU, however, I don't need a card that is significantly more powerful than the current one. USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Primarily used for multitasking internet, takeoff software, and estimating software, but needs to be able to handle CAD programs including Civil 3D, Terramodel (and it's new sibbling/counterpart Business Center), etc.ĬURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Currently GPU is a Quadro FX 540.

While we're on the subject, does anyone have a sample script snippit showing dxf export with z synthesizing.I work for a small construction company. I have attached my modified version, abc38.dxf, of abc.dxf. is an independent Toyota enthusiast website owned and operated by VerticalScope Inc. This procedure is not a recommendation, merely what I have to do to get the result I require. The Fora platform includes forum software by XenForo. I insert, at the POLYLINE/layer level, a group 38 label followed by, on a new line, the polyline elevation. I dont know whether TerraModel and TerraModeler are the same: its not a Bentley System product, but uses MicroStation as a platform. (Procedure: selected the line, placed cursor on node, noted z value in message window also ran LIST)īy modifying the dxf data set exported by Manifold, I am able to get the result I require that is, AutoCad associates a valid (non-zero) z value with those lines, and points, having been exported from Manifold with z values. TerraModel is sold by Trimble: its not a Bentley System product, but uses MicroStation as a platform.

Same results as with my sets - z value = 0. My Manifold dxf outputs are structurally similar to yours. I'm no expert in AutoCad, maybe there's a switch option I am unaware of that needs setting. I too have been unable to get AutoCad 2000 (also my old AutoCad v12) to pickup the z value of Manifold dxf exports.
